Simultaneous Removal of Cyanide and Heavy Metals Using Photoelectrocoagulation

چکیده

One of the new methods used to remove contaminants from effluent is electrocoagulation method, which sometimes combined with other increase removal efficiency contaminants. To simultaneously nickel, cyanide, zinc, and copper, method photo-electrocoagulation was along an oxidizing agent, namely hydrogen peroxide (Hp). In addition, effects factors affecting were studied, including pH, electrode arrangement, current intensity. An electric 300 mA at a pH 10 for 60 min, Fe-SS electrodes distance between them 5 cm, rate 4 mg/L ideal conditions needed accomplish photo-electrocoagulation-oxidation process. According these study findings, when photocatalyst-electrocoagulation-oxidation (Hp) used, highest efficiencies copper 85, 96, 94, 98%, respectively. The results showed that using increased simultaneous pollutants by 10% compared conventional method. reason in production hydroxyl radicals formation coagulants produced

Simultaneous removal of nitrate and heavy metals by iron metal.

Great attention should be paid now to simultaneously removing common pollutants, especially inorganic pollutants such as nitrate and heavy metals, as individual removal has been investigated extensively. Removing common pollutants simultaneously by iron metal is a very effective alternative method. Near neutral pH, heavy metals, such as copper and nickel, can be removed rapidly by iron metal, w...

Removal of Heavy Metals from Wastewater Using Cow Bone Charcoal

Bone charcoal, a mixed adsorbent containing around 10% carbon and 90% calcium phosphate, is mainly produced by thermal treatment of bones. Structurally, calcium phosphate in bone charcoal is in the hydroxyapatite form [1-2]. Traditionally, bone charcoal has been used to remove color in sugar solutions in the sugar refining industry. Recent studies use bone charcoal to adsorb radioisotopes of an...

Removal of Heavy Metals from Waste Water Using Water Hyacinth

-Water pollution has become one of the most serious problems of today’s civilization. In the last few years considerable amount of research has been done on the potential of aquatic macrophytes for pollutant removal or even as bio-indicators for heavy metals in aquatic ecosystems. Water hyacinth is one of the aquatic plant species successfully used for wastewater treatment. It is very efficient...
